Horsetrading.co.uk was set up in 1995 by Justin and Ali Le Hoon who sold out to Fiona Runciman in July 2003. In May 2009, with the site demanding too
much of her time, Fiona sold out to Ray Rodgers.
Ray, a former journalist, broadcaster and TV presenter, is well known in field sports. He launched shooting4all.com in 2001 when it was then one of the
first internet shooting agencies in the UK. He also launched the internet trading site landroversRus.co.uk.
He is no stranger to equine matters, having been a keen horseman until a bad fall and having been out with a number of hunts ant taken part in various
events.
His intention is to build on the success of the previous owners and take horsetrading.co.uk to even greater success.
Very much to do with what we are all about are our ongoing plans to improve horsetrading.co.uk We are considering several innovations.
These include.............
* A sponsorship deal with an up and coming young eventer. What will be unusual in sponsorship terms is that the package will include a financial interest
in our business You might know of someone, or perhaps it is you. Please get in touch with us through our contact us page.
* A separate magazine section or E-mag. This will include news and features, updated monthly, including news of forthcoming events throughout the UK. It
will also include, of course, reports on the progress of our young eventer! If you feel you would like to be a regular contributor, let us know through
our "contact us" page.
* A brand new service to help recover stolen horseboxes and trailers. THIS WILL BE FREE. You will be invited to input details of the stolen vehicle by
simply following a specific format. This will be available to all our site visitors and the police.
* A new page to be called BITS offering a FREE service to advertise any second hand equestrian items on offer at under £100
* An online log for your horse. You would record specific information such as the mares and stallions relative to your horse, its date of birth,
outstanding markings, when first broken, previous owners, medical treatments, and activities such as event achievements and even achievements of siblings.
This would NOT be a diary like "Went for a lovely ride yesterday" but important information of which you want a living record. This could be particularly
useful if you decide to sell a horse when prospective buyers could look at it. There will be a one off charge of £10 for this service.
